Differences in digital marketing and traditional marketing

Digital marketing is where consumers use different comparison websites  to compare the different company’s selling the different products. This is also done in traditional means when consumers go to the physical store and compare the different prices through the stores. This consumer does this to ensure that consumers are buying the products at the lowest prices.

Products that were traditionally only available in the store is now available online aswell. Some of these products are dvd which can be streamed through the websites such as Netflix and amazon prime. This is a increasing demand for the services to be available online.

People are being replaced by the internet. Traditionally you would have to go to a travel agent to book hotels or flights to a foreign trip aboard. This has now become available online for the consumer to complete these tasks from the comfort of their own home and book these services.

Everyday services are now available on demand. The traditional services which may have only been available on the 9-5 hours is now available at touch of a button. Some of these activities include checking your bank balance online that can be accessed online.

When products where being sold in the shop it was very difficult to get the information on the price of the product in another store unless the consumer called into the orther store . this information is now available more freely and consumers can use this for price comparasion when purchasing a product or  a service.

Integration Between Traditional and Digital Marketing Part 2

Some supermarkets have their weekly offers printed in a booklet which is available in store. Consumers can pick this up instore but also have the option to have the advertising leaflet emailed to them every week which means they are always kept updated with the information and offers for the store.

Some stores run competitions specially designed for their online digital marketing campaign. This is done in the hope to promote their brand further. Many companies do this only online as it can target a much larger audience in a faster time, and the store can monitor the results of the campaign.

When giving out brochures or advertising material to a specific area, the product which they are trying to sell will be mentioned within the brochures. Also the digital marketing will be also mentioned in the brochures and consumers will be encouraged to  follow the business on different types of social media platforms.

Integration Between Traditional and Digital Marketing Part 1

Many companies still advertise in traditional marketing. Many of these companies integrate traditional and digital marketing. When companies use a traditional printed version of marketing such as advertising leaflets, which are delivered through the post they will also incorporate digital marketing on the leaflets inviting the consumer to like them on their social media channels to keep updated or to shop online by providing their web address.

Some companies if they are trying to target a specific age group they will use different types of advertising. An examples of this is a local Supervalu store sending a text on a Thursday evening to advertise the upcoming special offers. Different groups are targeted through mentioning the social media channels within the text for example Instagram, Facebook Email, etc.
